Product Manager - Aerial Data Portal

Aerial is developing two primary tools. A customer facing cloud data portal where customers can upload the assets they want inspected and at what resolution, then view all data products and reports sourced from drones, satellites and other sources in one centralized tool. The second being a drone services cloud platform used to enable the scaled operations of services companies around the world. This role will support the product management of the data portal primarily, with some support provided to the services tool.

The ideal candidate would have strong knowledge of the geospatial software industry and how customers interact with these sorts of tools. Also the way that data from multiple sources is managed in a centralized environment that is easy for customers to use.

Description/responsibilities of the role:

  • Coordinate with customers to determine workflows, features, and other requirements needed to interact with our product.
  • Work with internal product design team to design the interfaces needed by our customers.
  • Clearly document user stories and requirements in a way that can be used by the development team to create our products.
  • Interface with potential partners to help enhance the capabilities of our offering.

 Required Skills and/or Experience

  • Experience using various product management and software development planning tools such as Atlassian Jira and Confluence.
  • Ability to interpret complex customer needs into clear user stories that can be used by the development team.
  • Past experience in bringing entire products to market via internal development and partnerships.
  • Ability to work with teams around the world to integrate existing technologies into a new and unique product.
  • Ability to lead scrum teams in the development of software products.
  • Knowledge of web/and or mobile software development; ability to convert feature epics into demonstrable user stories and prioritize.

 Nice to haves: 

  • Strong expertise in a variety of geospatial software tools
  • Familiarity with imagery, lidar and GIS analytical tools
  • Software development expertise as an engineer or designer is a plus
